Halo 3 Not working with my HDD

Can anyone help me??I have a problem with my Halo 3 + hard drive. When i play halo 3 with my hard drive, for some reason i cannot load any maps that i purchased or that came pre-loaded on the halo CD. I cannot play at all.When i take out my hard drive i can play halo 3 and all of my maps load just fine. I dont know what the problem could be.Has this happend to anyone? does anyone know of a fix to this probem?Thank you in advancedHalo 3 Not working with my HDD
Perhaps one of the files became corrupted, thus, cannot load. Try redownloading all the maps again. The one's on the disc are fine, obviously, since it works with the HDD unconnected.Halo 3 Not working with my HDD
Even when i tried to load the ones on the disc it still wont load them.... and ive already tried 2 hard drives... both of them dont work with my halo. its only working when the hard drives are out.

Odd that is still doesn't work. I think the way Halo 3 is coded is that it checks for saved content/maps before it lets you play, meaning, any downloaded corrupted file could tell the system not to let you play. It's a possibility, since if the game ended up trying to read it, it could cause a crash. But, try redownloading all the map packs/content again. It's worth a shot. I doubt something's wrong with the disc, because you mention it works without any HDDs attached. You may also try clearing your cache if problems persist (nothing to lose, really).
the thing with halo is you have to sit at the main menu in-till it loads your campaign game and its also searching for dlc so you cant get into games in-till every thing is extrackted

Well Bungie did say that the game doesn't work the best when installed to the HDD, does it work playing off of the CD?
Yeah Bungie said straight up that Halo3 is best played off the Disc... installing to hard drive has the opposite effect which makes load times longer and the game slower or something... from what I understand this is the only 360 game that has the opposite effect.

Hi Had the same problem... fixed it by removing all game updates...go into system, then memory, press y on hdd to open device menu, then press (x x lb rb x x )then press yes to xbox maintenance....
is that ture or are you just f ing to us beacuse i have the same problem with my HDD it wont work on pes 2009 game and i really love that game its **** awesome turst me. and i want to get that problem fixed and quick so please guys help me get it fixed plz plz plz. xxxxxxxxxxxx

they flat out said that it runs better by running it from the disc, and that if you downloaded it to the hard drive it would be much slower.
