How much space does the games take up????For those who have installed games on th ...
Depends. Most are between 4-7 gigs. For those who have installed games on th ...
They're all different sizes
Depends on the game, i guess about 5 - 8 gb generally
Usually a little under/over 5 gigs. i wouldn't do it though, installing games to your hard drive is a waste of memory. It is supposed to let the game go faster. The game only speeds up by maybe a few/fractions of seconds.

Depending on the game, it can cut load time in half, so it might be worth it. What I do is (I have the old 20 GB hard drive) install a game while I'm finishing its campaign, and then delete it immediately thereafter, since I'm usually not working through two or three campaigns at the same time.

I currently have all 6 of my games installed on the hard drive, the only thing I don't have yet is the expansion pack for Forza 2, just haven't got around to installing it. I still have just around 20gb left out of 60gb, so I am pretty pleased with that, because I thought I would be lucky to get 5 on there.I definitely recommend downloading them to the hard drive. It may or may not speed up load times, but to me that doesn't really matter. I prefer to do that because it helps the system to run a lot cooler (since downloading the games I don't notice the 360 getting hot at all) and it also makes it run more quietly, just listening to the system when it loads the disc for the first time and goes directly into the game makes me very happy I can download the games. I always thought people were just being picky when they said it was that loud, but it is very loud, so downloading helps a lot!
With the update tommorrow, games will take up much less space to install them. I prefer to install them because of the texture pop ins, faster, as well as it doesn't heat the 360 as much.
It's a waste. Someone said it decreases load times 40%-50%... that's true. An 8 second load is now only 5 seconds. Gain 3 seconds, lose 7 gigs. It does nothing for texture pop-in though. It doesn't help with RROD. RROD happens because of the CPU or GPU overheating. Please tell me how loading from a HDD would use the GPU or CPU less. Your system runs quieter, but my system is like 8 ft away from my couch and I don't play my games on mute so i've never had an issue with noise.Installing just seems like a waste of time for me. If it eliminated load times or reduced an 8 second load to a 1 second load, it'd be better. If loads were like 2 minutes, a 50% reduction would be worthwhile, but they aren't. All you get is less HDD space and a system that you couldn't hear over the game audio becomes a system that you can't hear over the game audio.

All I've got to say is. Play Fallout 3 from the disk and then play it after you install it. There's a difference. Not every game needs to be installed though. Just the large content heavy games that feature large explorable areas and have to render large crowds of NPCs. RPGs like Oblivion,Fallout and Mass Effect and open world games like GTAIV,Saint's Row 2 and Prototype work best when they are installed to the drive. Also RTS game perform much better that way as well. But it's not really necessary to install your average shooter or other title. It's usually just a waste of memory space.Personally I'm probably not going to play any future Bioware/Bethesda games straight from the disk anymore. lol
i install some of my games to my hard drive and it makes a big diffrence it load times.
How do you install games to the hard drive?
Around 7GB on average I think.
How do you install games to the hard drive?
Get the new update first as it decreases the amount of space.....Place disc in drive, press Y button on ''Play Game'' section, select ''Install game to hard drive'', and wait. Depending on the game, your install will take somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes.

When the DVD is not spinning at 12X there's less heat generated in the Xbox. Keep in mind the GPU is right under the DVD drive.
I can't see why anyone wouldn't install to HDD.Like the user above me said, it protects against RRoD and it also speeds up loadtimes.
